A Chance Encounter

What began as a simple mistake—a devotional prayer link sent to the wrong person—turned out to be the catalyst for an incredible journey. Little did I know, that single click would change everything for both of us.

Our Shared Connections

Onyema had known me through my sisters, Jillian and Evelyn, who were friends with him since their university days. Despite the years and our mutual connections, I had never met him—even when he was just a +1 at my birthday party over a decade ago. Interestingly, we had been Facebook friends all that time, but there had been no real interaction between us. I even remember him wishing me well on my birthday in February 2013, and I didn’t respond😜.

Building a Connection

After that unexpected message, we began to chat. At first, I would sometimes ignore his messages, but he never stopped reaching out. He would often apologize for bothering me, showing such patience and kindness that I couldn't help but admire him. Eventually, our conversations blossomed into hours of engaging discussions, revealing the qualities we both cherished. I found myself inspired by Onyema’s wit, thoughtfulness, and commitment to his faith. His genuine care for others made me feel more connected to him every day.

For Onyema, my love for God and my values resonated deeply, encouraging him to believe in our budding relationship.

*The Proposal

It didn’t take long for me to realize that Onyema was the person I wanted to spend my life with. I can still picture the day he asked me to be his wife. His nervous excitement was palpable, and when I said yes, it felt as if all our shared moments had led up to that perfect instant.

Since that day, when I mistakenly sent a prayer link to Onyema, we have been weaving a beautiful story filled with love, faith, and countless cherished memories. Everyday, I thank God for that seemingly small error that opened the door to the most wonderful chapter of my life as his wife-to-be and the mother of his children- a title he lovingly whispers in my ear.
